Baopu Daoyuan

Baopu Daoyuan Chinese  抱樸 道 院  /  抱朴 道 院 , Pinyin Bàopò Dàoyuàn , English Daoist Temple of the Gentleman Who Embraces Simplicity  - "Baopu Monastery / Monastery of the Master Embracing Simplicity" is a Daoist monastery on the north bank of the West Lake in the city Hangzhou in the Chinese province of Zhejiang . It is named after the Daoist physician and alchemist Ge Hong , the "Baopu zi" who practiced there in the 4th century. Baopuzi ("The Master Embracing Simplicity") is also the name of his main work, which is one of the most important early works in the history of Chinese science.

The temple is also on the list of the 21 most important Daoist temples of the Chinese State Council.
