Barbara Armbrust (born August 13, 1963 in St. Catharines , Ontario ) is a former Canadian rower.

The 1.80 m tall Barbara Armbrust took fourth place with the Canadian eighth at the Junior World Championships in 1980, and in 1981 she took seventh place with both the four with helmsman and eighth. Two years later, together with Gail Cort , Jane Tregunno , Kathy Lichty and helmsman Lesley Thompson, she finished fourth in the four with helmswoman at the World Championships behind the boats from the GDR, Romania and the Soviet Union.

Because of the Olympic boycott of the Eastern Bloc countries, of the boats placed in front of the Canadians in the 1983 World Championships, only the Romanians competed at the 1984 Olympic Games in Los Angeles. Two seconds behind the Romanian Olympic champions, Marilyn Brain , Angela Schneider , Barbara Armbrust, Jane Tregunno and taxwoman Lesley Thompson won the silver medal ahead of the Australians. At the 1985 World Championships , the GDR foursome won ahead of the Romanians, followed by Lisa Robertson , Barbara Armbrust, Christina Clarke , Patricia Smith and Lesley Thompson the bronze medal. In 1986 Barbara Armbrust ended her active career.
