The Static Nunatak is a Nunatak in East Antarctica, Victoria Land . In the Quartermain Mountains it rises 2 km south-southwest of Altar Mountain .
The New Zealand Geographic Board named it in 1993 after the English-language technical term for geodetic surveys based on immovable reference points with particular significance for the Global Positioning System .
