Ivan Leon Franjić (born September 8, 1997 in Altenkirchen ) is a German football player with Croatian roots who is used in midfield . He is under contract with the regional division 1. FC Saarbrücken .
Career
Ivan Franjić started playing football in his hometown Altenkirchen in the Westerwald at SG Neitersen / Altenkirchen. At the age of 12 he joined the Bundesliga club Bayer 04 Leverkusen , where he was trained for three years in their youth academy.
Through various other youth teams, he switched to the Northeast representative VFC Plauen for the 2016/17 league season , where he completed his first season in the men's division. After the end of the season, he was drawn to the northeast regional division VfB Germania Halberstadt .
For the third division season 2018/19 Franjić joined Eintracht Braunschweig , where he signed a contract valid until June 2020. He had his first professional appearance at the season opening game against Karlsruher SC on July 27, 2018.
On December 20, 2018, his club informed him that he would "be released from training for this week to examine options for their future". On January 21, 2019, the midfielder's contract was terminated after he had last expired in October 2018 for the relegation-threatened Eintracht.
On January 31, 2019, the regional division 1. FC Saarbrücken secured the services of the clubless midfielder.
