Jane Tregunno

Elizabeth Jane Tregunno , after marriage Stamp , (born July 9, 1962 in St. Catharines , Ontario ) is a former Canadian rower.

The 1.85 m tall Tregunno won the bronze medal with the Canadian eighth at the Junior World Championships in 1978, and in 1979 the rowers of the Canadian eighth received the gold medal. Jane Tregunno was pre-nominated for the 1980 Olympic Games, which were then boycotted by Canada . In 1981 Tregunno finished fourth at the World Championships with the Canadian eighth . Two years later she finished fourth again at the world championships , this time in the boat class four with helmswoman . In the absence of the world champions from the Soviet Union and the third place in the World Cup from the GDR, the World Cup runners-up from 1983 from Romania won the gold medal at the 1984 Olympic Games in Los Angeles, with Marilyn Brain , Angela Schneider , Barbara Armbrust and Jane Tregunno two seconds behind and taxwoman Lesley Thompson won the silver medal in front of the Australians.

Thompson and Tregunno, along with Jennifer Wallinga , Christina Clarke and Tricia Smith, were part of the 1986 Canadian foursome that won gold at the Commonwealth Games and bronze at the World Championships. After a sixth place in the foursome and a seventh place in the eighth place at the 1987 World Championships , Tregunno finished her career with the Canadian foursome in seventh place at the 1988 Olympic Games .
