Barbara Junge (designer)

Barbara Junge (born September 5, 1972 in Berlin ) is a German communication designer and professor for digital media in the field of visual communication at the Berlin-Weißensee School of Art .

biography

Junge studied communication design and (postgraduate) interdisciplinary design from 1994 to 2001 at the Weißensee Kunsthochschule Berlin. In 2000 she founded the Milchhof design office together with other designers, artists, curators and illustrators ( Hans Baltzer , Friedemann Bochow, Michael Rudolph, Carsten Stabenow and Andreas Töpfer) . She is still a partner here today. The office, which is involved in the design of analog and digital communication processes, especially in a cultural context, has received awards and published articles in specialist journals and books.

As co-founder of the eLab (2010), the laboratory for interactive technologies at the Weißensee Kunsthochschule Berlin, she is particularly interested in the fields of opportunity, implications and synergies in the field of interactive technologies. She designs communication processes in the areas of print, corporate design, web design as well as cultural and social communication for cultural institutions, companies, publishers, educational institutions and research facilities.

From 2004 on, she taught visual communication with a focus on digital media at the Berlin art colleges ( University of the Arts Berlin , Art College Berlin-Weißensee) and at the Escola Superior de Artes e Design Berlin na Bahia ADBB / Brazil. Since 2008 she has been professor for digital media at the Weißensee Kunsthochschule Berlin, and since 2012 she has been on the board of the Mart-Stam Society, the association of the Weißensee Kunsthochschule.
