Barbara Knauf (* 1987 ) is a German Go player. She was the German women's champion in 2008 and 2012.

Barbara Knauf comes from Sankt Augustin near Bonn and grew up in a Go-enthusiastic family - her father Franz Josef and her brother Torsten have also been playing Go successfully for years.

Her first great success was winning the title of German Youth Champion in Go , which she achieved in 2005 as a 2nd Dan in a joint competition between male and female youths. As a member of the German team, Barbara played at the 2008 World Thinking Sports Games in Beijing.

She won the German Women's Championship for the first time in 2008, now in 3rd Dan. She was able to repeat this success in Gießen in 2012, winning all the games and thus beating Manuela Marz from Jena and Jana Hollmann from Wiesbaden. Barbara Knauf was also one of the main organizers of the European Go Congress 2012, which took place in Bonn-Bad Godesberg for two weeks in July / August.

In 2013 she became German champion in Couple Go together with Matthias Terwey (4d). Her predecessor and successor was her brother Torsten, who won this title in 2011, 2012 and 2014.

From 2006 Barbara Knauf studied "Regional Studies East Asia" at the University of Cologne , which she graduated with a diploma in 2013. During this time there was also a year abroad (2008/2009) at Shandong University in China.
