House at the Oberfärber in Wolfratshausen

The Bei Oberfärber building in Wolfratshausen , a town in the Upper Bavarian district of Bad Tölz-Wolfratshausen , was built at the end of the 18th century. The residential and commercial building at Obermarkt 45 is a protected monument .

From 1645 to 1946 the craft tradition of dyeing was maintained in the house . To distinguish it from the Unterfärber (Untermarkt No. 24), the house was called Beim Oberfärber .

The three-storey flat gable roof building with a drying grate (also known as dye algae ) under the wide canopy has a rich facade painting , some of which dates from the Rococo period . It represents Mary , St. Augustine and St. Barbara .
