Barbara Mayen

Barbara Mayen (born July 3, 1956 in Bamberg ) is a German lawyer . She has been a judge at the Federal Court of Justice since 2001 , and has been the presiding judge since 2012.

Life

After completing her legal training, she entered the higher judicial service in North Rhine-Westphalia in 1986 . She was employed as a trial reporter at the Bonn Regional and District Court and was appointed judge at the Bonn Regional Court in 1989. From 1993 to 1996 she was seconded to the Federal Court of Justice as a research assistant. Subsequently, Mayen was promoted to judge at the Cologne Higher Regional Court . In mid-1999 she was seconded to the Ministry of Justice of North Rhine-Westphalia .

On November 1, 2001 Mayen was appointed judge at the Federal Court of Justice. From 2002 to 2010 it belonged to the IX. Civil Senate of the Federal Court of Justice as well as the Federal Service Court and has been the representative of the presidential judge since 2009. In April 2012 she was given the chairmanship of the IV Civil Senate .
