Barbara Meisner

Barbara Meisner (born July 24, 1964 in Marl ) is a German artist. She lives in Düsseldorf .

life and work

Barbara Meisner was born in Marl-Hüls as the daughter of a miner. She studied communication design at the Georg Simon Ohm University of Applied Sciences in Nuremberg. She completed her studies with a diploma. In 1990 she began studying contemporary art at the Villa Arson , École Pilote International d'Art et de Recherche , in Nice . The focus of the course was on sculpture, video and printing technology. In 1993 she received the "Diplôme National Supérieur d'Expression Plastique, Option Art / Félicitation du Jury".

Since then, Barbara Meisner has been working as a freelance artist and graphic designer in Neuss and Düsseldorf. She showed her work in solo and group exhibitions at home and abroad. Since 1997 she has also designed book series for Bachem Verlag in Cologne. In 2005 she founded the Atelier Color + Space / Ideas from Artists . She ran her Atelier Meisner in 2012 in Dortmund's Nordstadt , and since 2013 in Düsseldorf again.

Meisner deals with topics such as home, the Ruhr area, planets, mountains, water crystals and the mermaid myth. The works were marked as a "survey of our common understanding of the world".
