Bariba (also Baatonum ; ISO abbreviation: bba) is a Gur language spoken by approx. 460,000 people in Benin (1995) and around 100,000 (1995) in Nigeria .
Bariba is also the name of the ethnic group in Benin and Nigeria who speak this language as their mother tongue, namely Baatonum .
