Mercy Rosary

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The Mercy Rosary is a prayer in the Roman Catholic Church that focuses on the worship of God's mercy in Jesus Christ . It is prayed using the traditional 55-pearl rosary , but does not contain the regular sequence of Ave Marias , but other prayer formulas.

The prayer is based on visions of the Polish nun Faustyna Kowalska (1905–1938). The prayers of the Mercy Rosary are addressed to God the Father and Jesus Christ, often depicted in the image of the Merciful Jesus , and are closely related to the celebration of the Eucharist .

According to Sister Faustyna's notes, Jesus told her in the visions: “Keep praying the rosary [of Divine Mercy] that I taught you. Whoever will pray him will experience My great mercy in the hour of his death. The priests will hand it to the sinners as the last anchor of life. Should it be the most stubborn sinner - if he only recites this rosary once, he will be granted the grace of My infinite Mercy. I wish the whole world to recognize my mercy. I want to bestow incomprehensible graces on those souls who trust in My Mercy. "

Structure of the Rosary of Mercy

"Eternal Father, I sacrifice the body and blood, the soul and the divinity of your most beloved Son, our Lord Jesus Christ, to atone for our sins and the sins of the whole world."
  • For the small pearls:
"Through his painful suffering, have mercy on us and the whole world."
  • At the end three times:
"Holy God, holy strong God, holy immortal God, have mercy on us and on the whole world."

Before and after you can still pray:

“O blood and water, flowing out of the heart of Jesus as a source of mercy for us, Jesus, I trust in you! Merciful Jesus, at the moment of your death on the cross for us I adore you, praise you and please, embrace with your inexhaustible mercy all of humanity, especially the poor sinners and the dying.
