history

The former provost of the Barnabites was built between 1687 and 1700. Renovations took place in the 18th century. The building served as a school until 1787 and was called Barnabitenkolleg. Today the building serves as a parish office and as a social center for the community.

architecture

The two-storey four-wing complex has a square inner courtyard.

The library in the north wing of the upper floor has remarkable uniform furnishings from 1758/1760. The book inventory is a foundation for the legacy of Peter Franz Karl von Priesen Abbot and Dean of Pillichsdorf. Franz Anton Maulbertsch (1760) painted the ceiling fresco allegory of progress and the fruits of science in a rich pseudo-architectural frame with lateral flower vases .
