Otfried Pleitz

Otfried Pleitz is a former German basketball player .

Life

Pleitz took part with the national basketball team of the German Democratic Republic (GDR) in the elimination rounds for the Olympic Games in 1960 and 1964 and the European championship tournaments in 1961, 1963 and 1965. At the EM in 1961 in Belgrade , he was the third-best scorer in the GDR selection with 11.1 points per match. In total, he received 87 appointments to the national team during his career.

At the club level, Pleitz played for ASK Vorwärts Leipzig, with whom he also competed in the European Cup. In 1961 he received the award " Master of Sports ".
