Baron Darwen , of Heys-in-Bowland in the West Riding of the County of York , is a British hereditary title in the Peerage of the United Kingdom .

The family home of the barons is The Laborer's Rest in Pleshey near Chelmsford in Essex .

Award

The title was created on February 12, 1946 for the cotton manufacturer and Labor politician John Davies .

Today's title holder has been his great-grandson Paul Davies as 4th Baron since 2011 .
