Baron Feversham

Baron Feversham is a hereditary British title of nobility , which was awarded once in the Peerage of Great Britain and in the Peerage of the United Kingdom .

Awards

For the first time, the title Baron Feversham , of Downton in the County of Wilts , was created for the House of Commons Anthony Duncombe on June 23, 1747 in the Peerage of Great Britain . He died on June 18, 1763 without leaving any sons, so that the title expired.

In the second bestowal on July 14, 1826 in the Peerage of the United Kingdom, the title Baron Feversham , of Duncombe Park in the County of York , was created for the House of Commons Charles Duncombe . His grandson, the 3rd Baron, was also made Earl of Feversham , of Rydale in the North Riding of the County of York, and Viscount Helmsley , of Helmsley in the North Riding of the County of York on July 25, 1868 . When his great-grandson, the 3rd Earl, died on September 4, 1963, the Earldom and the Viscountcy were extinguished, while the barony fell to his fourth cousin as the 6th Baron. Today's title holder has been his son Jasper Duncombe as the 7th Baron since 2009 . Until 2009 the family seat of the barons was Duncombe Park near Helmsley in Yorkshire.
