Baron FitzHugh
Baron FitzHugh is a hereditary British title of nobility in the Peerage of England , dormant since 1513.
The family seat of the barons was Ravensworth Castle in North Yorkshire .
Awarding and Abeyance
The title was created on May 15, 1321 for Sir Henry FitzHugh when he was called to the royal parliament by Writ of Summons .
In the childless death of the 7th Baron on January 28, 1513, the title fell in Abeyance between his aunts Alice FitzHugh (1448-1516) and the son of his aunt Elizabeth FitzHugh (1455 / 65-1507). Today's co-heirs are James Douglas-Home, 29th Baron Dacre (* 1952), Tessa Ogilvie Thompson (* 1934), Francis Brand, 7th Viscount Hampden (* 1970) and William Herbert, 18th Earl of Pembroke (* 1978 ).
