Baron Glenconner , of The Glen in the County of Peebles , is a hereditary British title in the Peerage of the United Kingdom .

Award and subordinate titles

The title was created on April 3, 1911 for Sir Edward Tennant, 2nd Baronet . He had previously been a Member of the House of Commons and Lord Lieutenant for Peeblesshire.

The father of the first baron, also a member of parliament and also a successful businessman, had already been appointed Baronet , of The Glen and St. Rolux, on July 17, 1885 . This title, which belongs to the Baronetage of the United Kingdom , is now used as a subordinate title by the respective baron.
