Peeblesshire

Peeblesshire ( Scottish Gaelic Siorrachd nam Pùballan ) is a traditional county in south-east Scotland . The administrative seat and eponymous place was the city of Peebles .

As an administrative county, Peeblesshire existed between 1890 and 1975 and then became part of the Tweeddale District of the Borders region . The Borders region was dissolved in 1996 and transformed into the Scottish Borders Unitary Authority . Peeblesshire is still today one of the Lieutenancy Areas of Scotland under the name Tweeddale .
