Baron Keane

Baron Keane , of Ghuznee in Afghanistan and of Cappoquin in the County of Waterford , was a hereditary British title in the Peerage of the United Kingdom .

Award and history of the title

The title was created on December 23, 1839 for the British general Sir John Keane . The territorial dedication of the title refers to his victory in the Battle of Ghazni in the First Anglo-Afghan War .

The title expired on the death of his younger son, the 3rd Baron, on November 27, 1901.
