Agriculture

In Barranco de Agaete , much of the agricultural production of the community is created. Tropical vegetation thrives on the fertile soils, thanks to the abundance of water, the high rock walls that act as natural wind protection and the very nutrient-rich soil. In addition to palm trees, lemons , oranges , mangoes and avocados used for agricultural production also grow here . Agaete is also one of the few coffee-growing areas in the Canary Islands and therefore in Spain.

Transport and tourism

Only one road leads from the southeast of the Agaete community center into the valley and ends in Los Berrazales . In terms of tourism, the valley is considered to be one of the most beautiful Gran Canaria. In addition, developed around 1900 in the village of Los Berrazales a spa, which was, however, abandoned in the 1970s by the local iron-containing sources. In Los Berrazales , however, the mineral water, which is considered to be medicinal , is still bottled.
