Barringer is an impact crater on the southern hemisphere on the far side of the moon . It is located on the north-northeastern ridge of the Apollo Basin and southeast of Plummer . To the south of Barringer is Scobee Crater . The crater is essentially round with a slight bulge on the western ridge. The outer wall merges into the Apollo basin. The crater is named after the geologist Daniel Barringer .
