Barry Allen
Barry Allen Rasmussen (born July 29, 1945 in Edmonton , Alberta , † April 4, 2020 ) was a Canadian rock musician.
Career
Allen began his musical career as a backing singer and guitarist for Wes Dakus and the Rebels , which attracted producer Norman Petty's attention. This led to the release of two singles and his debut album "Goin 'places" in 1965. He had a top hit the following year with “Love drops”.
After two more, but unsuccessful singles, the Capitol record company separated from him; after an interlude with Barry Allen and the Lords , he returned in 1970 with the band Painter , which however only released one LP.
Allen, who also received a Juno Award , started his own recording studio, Homestead Records , in the mid-1970s .
