Bart Jan Janssen (born February 3, 1983 ) is a former Belgian volleyball player and current coach.

Career

Janssen started playing volleyball at the age of seven. He first played in Lanaken and Avoc Achel before switching to Noliko Maaseik . The setter later returned to Achel. In 2012 he finished second with the club in the Belgian second division. In the 2012/13 season he played for the German Bundesliga club Moerser SC . After finishing his active career, he was among other things coach of the Belgian first division club Kivola Riemst . From the 2019/20 season he will be assistant coach of the ladies in Black Aachen .

Private

Janssen comes from a volleyball family. His parents were just as active in this sport as his brother Tom, who became a junior coach after a knee injury, and his sister Aukje, who played in the top division. Janssen is in a relationship with the Belgian beach volleyball player Liesbeth Mouha . He works as a physical education teacher in Maasmechelen and Lanaken.
