Bartoš Písař

Bartoš Písař (also Bartoloměj od svatého Jiljí (Bartholomäus of St. Giles)) (* around 1470 in Prague ; † May 6, 1535 there ), was a Czech historian and trader.

Life

Bartoš Písař was an educated, wealthy cloth dealer and clerk of the Prague vineyards. He was a witness and victim of the overthrow of the deposed mayor Jan Pašek z Vratu in Prague in 1524. In the same year he was appointed as followers of Martin Luther ( Neuutraquist shown) out of town and did not return until after the renewed and this time final dismissal in January Pašeks 1529 by Emperor Ferdinand I return.
