Bartoniai is a place in District Dumsiai in which jonava district municipality , Kaunas district , Lithuania . Since 2009 the village has been the center of the subordinate district of the same name with 334 inhabitants. The Bartoniai subdistrict includes these villages: Bartoniai, Salupiai, Šileikos, Stašėnai and Varpiai. 197 inhabitants live in the village of Bartoniai (as of 2011). There is a cemetery, a registered village community. The village connects the local Bartoniai-Stašėnai highway.

history

The place was significantly changed in the Soviet era . After the exploitation of the gravel mining ended, a reservoir was set up and the village cemetery was opened from 19th to 20th Century became an island. According to archaeological and numismatic finds, it was established that burials were carried out here as early as the 15th century.
