Baryaxes
Baryaxes ( Greek Βαρυάξης ; † 324 BC ) was a Medes who appeared as a usurper against Alexander the Great .
During Alexander's Indian campaign , Baryaxes proclaimed himself king of Persia and the media, but was then defeated and arrested with his followers by Atropates , the media satrap appointed by Alexander . Atropates met his prisoner at the beginning of 324 BC. In Pasargadai , where Alexander was staying at that time, who had Baryaxes killed immediately.
