Sebastian Dirk Roorda (born February 13, 1973 in Assen ) is a Dutch former football goalkeeper who was most recently under contract with PSV Eindhoven in the Dutch Eredivisie .
Player career
Bas Roorda started his career as a footballer with the Dutch first division club FC Groningen . There he was under contract for four years from 1992 to 1996, but never got beyond the role of substitute goalkeeper. For this reason he left the club in the summer of 1996 and went to league rivals NEC Nijmegen . He was a constant there for the next four years. Then he went to Roda Kerkrade , where he moved back into the second link. After all, he was occasionally used there in his first three seasons, but in the 2003/2004 season he was on the bench in all games.
In the summer of 2004, Bas Roorda returned to his ex-club FC Groningen , where he was active as a regular goalkeeper for the next three seasons. For the 2007/2008 season he finally signed a lucrative contract as a substitute for Heurelho da Silva Gomes with the Dutch champions PSV Eindhoven. Here he did not appear in the league, but on April 3, 2008 he was able to keep the Eindhoven goal for 30 minutes as a substitute in a 1-1 draw in the UEFA Cup match at Fiorentina . At the end of the 2010/11 season, he ended his professional career. Since then he has been an employee of the VVCS players' association.
For the 2011/12 season Roorda returned to PSV as a youth goalkeeping coach.
