Bashar Abdullah Salem A. Abdulaziz (born October 12, 1977 in Kuwait City ) is a former Kuwaiti soccer player . He played as a striker and is his country's record international player and scorer.

Career

Abdullah began his career in 1987 at al Salmiya Club and played there, with the exception of a few loans, for over 20 years in the Kuwaiti Premier League . In 2010 he moved to league rivals al Kuwait SC , where he ended his career in 2011.

National team

Abdullah made his first international match for the Kuwaiti national team in 1996 and took part with this in the 1996 , 2000 and 2004 Asian Championships and the 2000 Olympic Games .

In 2007 he ended his career in the national team after 133 games , making him the Kuwaiti record player. With 75 goals scored, he is not only the record goalscorer in his country, but also internationally behind Ali Daei , Cristiano Ronaldo , Ferenc Puskás , Godfrey Chitalu , Hussain Said , Pelé and together with Sándor Kocsis and Kunishige Kamamoto the player with the seventh most international goals , whereby Abdullah alone scored eight goals in his country's 20-0 record win against Bhutan on February 14, 2000. On May 25, 2018, Abdullah played a seven-minute short stint in the 1-1 draw in the friendly against Egypt.
