Basic Element is a successful Swedish music band in the Eurodance genre . The group is from Malmö and originally consisted of Peter Thelenius, keyboardist Cesar Zamini and singer Zetma Prenbo. It currently consists of Peter Thelenius, Mathias Olofson, Jonas Wesslander and Andrea Myra.
history
Peter Thelenius and Cesar Zamini founded the group in 1992 and started with Zetma as a singer. In 1993 the record deal with EMI Records was signed and their first single "Move Me" was released. This was followed in 1994 by the Swedish hit “The Promise Man”. The style of music changed over time from the initial hip-hop , in which Thelenius had predominantly taken the role of a rapper.
In 1995 Zetma Prenbo left the band when she became pregnant and she was replaced by Saunet Sparrell. The new album "The Ultimate Ride" has been released. In 1995 Peter and Cesar were divided on the future of the band and Cesar left them. The third album "Star Tracks" followed and the music genre disco was remembered . The band then took a break and Thelenius released a solo album in 1997 called "Peter". In 1998 Basic Element came back with a new album with the original Euro-Dance sound with Marie Fredriksson (not to be confused with the singer from Roxette ) as the new voice.
From 1999 the band took another break, but came back in 2005 with a new edition of their old hit "This must be a dream" from 1995, with Mathias Olofson as a new member of the band. In February 2006 a new single was released with the name "Raise the Gain" and a slightly different sound. On February 7, 2007, Basic Element released their comeback album "The Empire Strikes Back". In 2007 Marie Fredriksson is replaced by Andrea Myra as singer.
Well-known songs in Germany include “To You”, “Feelings” and “The Bitch”.
