The Basilica of the Mother of God of Perpetual Help and St. Mary Magdalene (Polish Bazylika Matki Boskiej Nieustającej Pomocy i św. Marii Magdaleny ) is a Catholic sacred building in Poznan . It is a three-aisled baroque building with a transept and galleries over the aisles. The side aisles are covered with cross vaults and divided into chapels.

history

The construction work lasted from 1651 to 1701, but the church was not finally completed until 1750. In the years 1727–1732 Pompeo Ferrari built the main altar and the portal . Since 1798 it has been the parish church of the parish of St. Mary Magdalene and at the same time collegiate church . The organ was built in the years 1872–75 by Friedrich Ladegast . During the reconstruction of Poznan Cathedral , the basilica served as an interim cathedral . In 2010 the church was given the honorary title of Basilica minor .
