The Basin Lake (from English basin , basin, shell, cauldron ' ) is a lake in East Antarctic Victoria Land . It is the largest lake in the region in the Prince Albert Mountains, unofficially known as the Mawson Oasis , and is located immediately east of Mount Murray and north of the Mawson Glacier .

Scientists from a campaign of the New Zealand Geological Survey Antarctic Expedition carried out from 1962 to 1963 gave it its descriptive name.
