Mount Murray is a 1,005 m , scharfgratiger mountain of granite in the East Antarctic Victoria Land . It rises eight miles west of Bruce Point in the Prince Albert Mountains on the north side of the Mawson Glacier .
Participants in the Nimrod expedition (1907-1909), led by the British polar explorer Ernest Shackleton, discovered him. The mountain is named after the British biologist James Murray (1865–1914), a member of the expedition.
