Basketball Vienna

Basketball Vienna (also known as Easter tournament ) is an international youth basketball tournament that has been held annually in Vienna over Easter since April 1990 .

The tournament is organized by the Basketball International Club. The venues are a number of Viennese schools, the finals usually take place in the Wiener Stadthalle . In the first 20 years since the tournament was founded, more than 5000 teams from 29 countries have participated. 480 teams from 20 countries took part in the 2009 tournament.

With a few exceptions, the rules of FIBA apply . There is a subdivision into six age groups from those under 12 (U-12) to those under 20 (U-20). In some age groups, a distinction is made between the performance levels “Level High” and “Level Low”.

Since 2009 there has been a cooperation with the Admiral Basketball Bundesliga , the top Austrian basketball division, which holds its All-Star Day as part of this tournament.
