Basset fauve de Bretagne is a French breed of dog recognized by the FCI ( FCI Group 6, Section 1.3, Standard No. 36 ).

The Basset Fauve de Bretagne is a small, up to 38 cm high, compact, very lively hunting dog . The hair is short, rough, hard, but not woolly or curly in shades of fawn, from wheat to brick red. It is mostly set on small game. He is said to have an extraordinary talent for hunting , which is why he is very popular with hunters.
