Bastian Steppin (born December 5, 1990 in Schwerin ) is a German volleyball player .

Career

Bastian Steppin is the son of the former national volleyball player Ute Steppin . He started his volleyball career in 2008 and initially played in his hometown for Schweriner SC . After a year at the state performance center Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania, he moved to the relegated regional league SV progress Neustadt-Glewe . From 2010 to 2011 Steppin did his basic military service in the Bundeswehr . In the summer of 2011, Steppin moved to the US first division University of Mount Olive. The University of Mount Olive players play in the Conference Carolinas, which is a minor league of the NCAA . Nationally, the University of Mount Olive Trojans are listed as an NCAA DIV-I volleyball team, but due to the small number of DIV-I teams they play in a DIV-II conference against first and second division clubs. The Conference Carolinas has been fully integrated into the NCAA-DIV-I league system since the 2013-2014 season and receives an automatic bid for the Final Four Tournament. Bastian Steppin has played for the Division I Club team at California State University Long Beach since 2014. Long Beach plays in the SCCVL (Southern California Collegiate Volleyball League), the highest American club volleyball league.

He has been playing for the Eintracht Frankfurt volleyball team since 2016 .
