Bateel International ( Arabic بتيل, DMG Batīl ) is a manufacturer of dates and chocolate with headquarters in the Saudi Arabian capital Riyadh . Bateel also runs several cafes.

history

In 1992 the first Bateel boutique opened in the Bur Juman Center in Dubai. 15 more stores followed in the United Arab Emirates, as well as stores across the GCC countries , Asia, Africa and Europe. The company has its origins in Saudi Arabia, where the company's date farms are still located today. In 2013, Bateel expanded massively and opened boutiques in Russia and Turkey as well as further cafes in the United Arab Emirates, Oman and Saudi Arabia. In 2016, Bateel opened its first store in the USA.

Production and sales

The chocolate and biscuits are made in the Bateel factory in Dubai ; Dates are sourced from farms in Al Ghat , Saudi Arabia . The products are mostly produced in France and Italy exclusively for Bateel. The brand is located in the premium segment and sells its products worldwide.

Bateel is a vertically integrated company. The products are produced in the company's own factories and mostly offered in their own chocolate boutiques as well as in 5-star hotels and department stores (e.g. Harrods ). The boutiques mostly sell loose dates and chocolates, but also packaged products.

Products

The core business of Bateel is dates and pralines , besides pastries, candied fruits, coated tablets and gourmet foods are also sold. Bateel sells more than 20 different types of dates, including the Khidri, Kholas, Madjool, Segai and Agwa. The latter is of special importance for Muslims, as it only grows in the holy city of Medina and is considered blessed by the Prophet Mohammed. The different dates differ in color, texture and taste and each come from different date palms.
