Batson Dome Field

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The Batson Dome Field is an oil field in Hardin Country , Texas . It is located approximately 50 miles northeast of Houston and has several production zones.

This 500-acre oil field is located in a flat wooded area north of the Batson Settlement , which allows easy access for drilling and maintenance. The first wells took place in the early 1900s, when the first oil was produced at a depth of around 800 meters. The deposit lies in a layer of porous mineral material, mostly sandstone or slate , which is sealed at the top by impermeable layers such as clay or salt .

The company Vanguard Energy Corporation has been producing around 120 barrels per day with seven oil rigs since 2011 . The company is planning additional drilling to a depth of approximately 3,000 to 4,000 meters.
