Battle Frenzy

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Battle Frenzy (alternative title: Bloodshot ) is an American first-person shooter developed by Domark for Sega Mega Drive and Sega Mega-CD from 1994.

action

In 2049, the Yaz 67 lunar base is attacked by an alien battleship. The earth forces manage to neutralize the ship using laser batteries. When a boarding party enters the alien spaceship, it notices that the crew consists of deadly combat robots and cyborgs and is completely wiped out. Eventually the robots could somehow be deactivated and the ship was towed to Earth. Using the data from the on-board computer, it was found that the aliens were sending an army of robots on their way to Earth to attack them. The flagship of the invasion fleet is powered by sixteen plasma generators. The protagonist is a member of the Starfleet Elite Marines , whose mission is to destroy these energy nodes on board the flagship in order to stop the fleet and save the earth. In order to prepare these marines for the dangerous mission, the battle-frenzy- enhancing chip "Bloodshot" is implanted in their brains, which gives them more strength, lightning-fast reflexes and an insatiable desire to kill.

Gameplay

In Battle Frenzy , the player has to fight his way through 12 levels in the form of maze-like decks on board an alien ship in order to defend himself against different types of combat robots, collect weapons and destroy the respective plasma nodes. If one of these generators is destroyed in a level, this initiates a self-destruct countdown in which the player must quickly return the deck to the respective starting point.
