The Baugedächtnis Switzerland Online provides digitized Swiss journals of architecture and engineering in facsimile quality , with full-text access and open access and is part of the Internet platform SEALS ( Swiss Electronic Academic Library Service ). The Swiss building memory online is an invaluable source of information on the building history of Switzerland for interested laypeople and experts alike. It has been online since January 2007.

Magazines

The Swiss online building memory currently includes the Tec21 and Tracés magazines and their predecessors. Die Eisenbahn , Schweizerische Bauzeitung , Swiss engineer and architect as well as Bulletin de la Société vaudoise des ingénieurs et des architectes , Bulletin technique de la Suisse romande , Ingénieurs et architectes suisses back to 1874. The current issues of Tec21 and Tracés are published six months after the publication of the printed booklet online.

Around 345,000 pages of editorial and advertising sections have been digitized. The Swiss online building memory was made possible through the collaboration of the ETH Library Zurich , the publishing company of the academic technical associations, the Swiss Association of Engineers and Architects and the consortium of Swiss university libraries .

The Swiss online building memory is open to other Swiss magazines relevant to building history as an archive and publication platform. The publications of the International Association for Bridge and Structural Engineering (IABSE), which was founded in Switzerland in 1929 and is based at ETH Zurich , are currently being digitized .
