Swiss Electronic Academic Library Service (SEALS) is a service provided by the consortium of Swiss university libraries within the framework of e-lib.ch: Swiss Electronic Library . The publicly accessible web portal comprises the following sub-projects:

  • retro.seals.ch: Retro-digitization of scientific journals and their provision in full text on the Internet (382 journals in various fields, as of May 2015)
  • meta.seals.ch: Operation of a central catalog of publications that are published on the document servers of the individual universities as part of Open Access programs

Consortium of Swiss University Libraries

The Consortium of Swiss University Libraries was founded in 2000 as a project of the Conference of University Libraries in Switzerland. Half of the funding was initially provided by the federal government, and since 2006 entirely by the partners. On the one hand, the consortium licenses databases and electronic journals for the partner libraries and, on the other hand, carries out projects within the framework of the Swiss Electronic Library.
