Baumann S.rL is an international manufacturer of sideloaders , a special construction of forklifts , and four-way forklifts . The company is based in Cavaion Veronese near Verona , Italy and is one of the two largest manufacturers of this type of forklift in the world. Sideloaders are particularly suitable for transporting long and bulky goods.
Baumann manufactures around 400 sideloaders annually in its plant, which are exported through 106 authorized dealers in 76 countries worldwide. The range currently comprises six different series, ranging from compact forklifts with a load capacity of between three and five tons to heavy-duty forklifts with a load capacity of up to 50 tons. Baumann specializes in the manufacture of electric (80 V and 120 V) and diesel sideloaders (emission level EU V and EPA Tier 4f). One of the largest machines is the GXS 500 model , which has been equipped with a spreader to hold containers and has been adapted accordingly in terms of construction. The container forklift with a dead weight of 72 tons has a load capacity of 50 tons. Baumann is a Lockheed Martin certified company.
history
The company has its roots in the production of all-terrain and sideloaders, which the two brothers Rolf and Wolfgang Baumann jointly started in Bühlertal in 1967. In 1969, under the direction of Wolfgang Baumann, the series production of the sideloader began at the production site in Cavaion. The plant, which was later separated from the originally German company, and the model series were gradually expanded over the years. Since 2006, Baumann has been led by Dr. Klaus Pirpamer led. In 2016 Baumann won the FLTA innovation award in England.
