The Baumer Group , based in Frauenfeld, is an internationally active Swiss group of companies in the field of sensor technology . The company has 38 branches in 19 countries and employs around 2,700 people.

Field of activity

The Baumer Group specializes in the manufacture of precision sensors, angle sensors, process measurement technology , glue application systems and image processing solutions for industrial applications.

history

The company was founded in 1952 by Herbert Baumer as Baumer Electric AG in Frauenfeld. In 1964 Helmut Vietze took over the management. In 1981 the company founded its first foreign subsidiary in Germany. Further foundings followed in France (1986), the USA (1988), Italy (1996) and Canada (1997). The international expansion also took place through various acquisitions in Great Britain (1989), Sweden (1994) and France as well as various takeovers in Germany and Switzerland. Since 1991, the individual companies have been bundled under the umbrella of Baumer Holding AG in Frauenfeld. In 2002 the Hübner group from Berlin was taken over.
