Building protection
The term building protection is part of building physics and describes measures on buildings to protect them from harmful and dangerous influences. These effects threaten the existence of the structure and can lead to structural damage in the long term .
Content
Building protection focuses on several protection areas:
- The sound protection covers all measures to reduce airborne and structure borne sound transmission
- The aim of thermal protection is to reduce the heat transfer between the components
- The moisture protection prevents damage from the effects of water and moisture
- The fire protection includes measures to protect against fire
- The acid protection includes measures to protect against corrosive chemicals (acids, bases, etc.)
