A construction project ( BVH for short ) is the project to erect or change a structural system ( structure ). Construction projects are usually subject to approval or at least notifications. The building application serves this purpose . Almost all states have building supervisory authorities to monitor construction projects, in particular to review building applications .

In Germany, construction projects are legally defined in Section 29 of the Building Code and in the building regulations of the federal states . The legal permissibility of building projects is regulated in §§ 30 ff. Of the Building Code. The common abbreviations for building projects are: BV, BVH and Bauvorh.
