Construction schedule

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

A construction schedule is a tool for scheduling (extensive explanations there) and tracking a construction process .

The construction schedule serves to coordinate and control all different (professional / commercial) activities ( trades ) in order to achieve orderly, largely smooth work, with the aim of ensuring the planned completion date of a construction project .

The construction schedule is drawn up by the construction management in coordination with the client and the experience-based requirements and continuously adapted to the resulting requirements of the operational practice (weather, failures of contractors, etc.). In the case of larger construction projects, subordinate construction schedules are kept for each trade. - See also the construction calendar .

When creating and updating the construction schedule, special software is used, especially in the professional sector - from simple construction schedule planners based on a spreadsheet to complex project management solutions that link the construction schedule with resource and financial planning.

To visualize the construction times, the presentation of the construction schedule as a Gantt diagram is common.
