Bavarian Auto Group is an automobile manufacturer based in Cairo , Egypt that assembles models from various manufacturers.

history

From 1997 to 1999 BMW models were assembled by Nissan Egypt in Egypt, and from 1999 to 2002 by ACVA. This abbreviation stood for Al Fotouh Company for Vehicle Assembly .

In 2003 a partnership agreement was signed between the Bavarian Auto Group and BMW. In May 2004 a new assembly plant was opened. Around $ 60 million has been invested in this plant. In 2014 another 9 million were invested in new production lines. Almost a thousand vehicles were produced in the first year. In the years that followed, the 5 series, the 7 series as well as the BMW X1 and BMW X3 were added to the initially assembled 3 series.

In 2005 another agreement was reached with Brilliance China Automotive Holdings . This collaboration lasted from 2006 to 2009, when it was discontinued due to “insurmountable factors”, and was resumed in 2016.

The Mahindra Scorpio has also been assembled as a CKD kit since 2010 .

In spring 2011, the company also took over the sale of vehicles from Great Wall Motors .
