history

The first mention takes place on July 27, 1779 with Viktor Ignatius Alois Baworowski and his brother Matthias Baworowski. They were descended from Wenzel Baworowski, who was knighted in Galicia in 1775.

As one of 64 counts, the family had a hereditary seat. The seat was taken after him by his son Emil Graf Baworowski (1864–1908) on April 22, 1889, followed by his brother Rudolf Graf Baworowski (1865–1931) on April 24 September 1909.

Another well-known representative of the family was the Polish-Austrian tennis player Count Adam Baworowski (born August 9, 1913 in Vienna, † early 1943 in Stalingrad), who played at the French Open and Wimbledon .
