Bayreuth African Studies Series
The Bayreuth African Studies Series (abbreviation BASS ) are a series of academic books on issues of African literature , linguistics , music , theater , sociology , religions and cultures founded, edited and published by Eckhard Breitinger (1940-2013) at the Institute for African Studies at the University of Bayreuth Africa . African scholars and African scholars alike were given a forum. The series has been published since 1984. It currently comprises around 100 monographs and edited volumes (2013).
