The house Bayrhamerplatz 8 in Hallein is a town house on Bayrhamerplatz in the Salzburg municipality of Hallein in the Hallein district . Construction elements go back to the 16th century. The building is a listed building ( list entry ).

Building description

The house and other houses on the square form a building ensemble in the so-called Inn-Salzach construction method .

The four-storey facade is divided into five parts with windows and shows a drawn-in, double-stepped curved baroque gable in the middle in front of the gable roof. The main portal is arched with a stone wall made of Adnet marble (Rot-Grauer Schnöll), the two massive door leaves are from the 16th century.

Inside the building, on the first floor, on a beam of the wooden ceiling, there is a carved Gothic lettering with 1527 and IHS . This wooden ceiling also shows a dog's foot as a notch .

There are three closable chimneys.

The small gallery called 1Blick has been located in the foyer since 1992 and exhibits works of the visual arts on a monthly basis .
